The Birth of ANAVI

A unique resource mobilisation drive initiated by Anglo Eastern Ship Management (India) Pvt. Ltd. to bring smiles to the underprivileged in India. Anglo Eastern Ship Management is a respected Shipping Company which is now looking beyond just managing and running merchant ships as per world standards. This is basically an activity wherein it is aimed to touch and make better the lives of people who have not been fortunate enough to live a life where they could get even the basic necessities.

The process started up in Kolkata. The group being formed is basically a voluntary admission of the spouses of the large number of officers who are the inherent part of AESM. Needless to say that when the officers are on leave, they too join hands with their spouses and add strength to the group. What kneads this group together is the strong values of righteousness, quality and compassion, which AESM epitomizes and symbolises. The group does not aim at providing just simply a financial aid as that would be the simplest and commonly followed practice but instead the members of this "Parivaar" intend to put in their precious time and physical effort to make betterment in the lives of the needy and underprivileged.

"Parivaar" started in Kolkata with 6 members in June '09 and is steadily growing. After registration the name was changed to "Anavi" which means "being kind to others". Everybody when spoken to about the aim and objectives of this group, almost immediately consents to be part of it. The day is not far when Anavi becomes one of the largest families in India touching and improving the lives of huge number of people not just in Bengal but across the country and with the zeal and enthusiasm of the members of this Parivaar that day is not too far.!!!
