We spent a delightful afternoon with the inmates of Ramola Bhavan - we spoke to them, heard their stories and told them about ourselves too.
Kyle Mendonca who is 10 years old entertained the inmates while he sang and played the guitar - the songs were Tequila Sunrise, Hotel California and Tie a Yellow Ribbon. The Ladies of the Home were enthralled and it was good to see them smile.
Lunch was served from 12.30 pm onwards and the menu included vegetables, hilsa fish, paneer, dal, rice, chutney and sweets. The sweets were sponsored by Alaka Biswas to celebrate her daughters 8th birthday. The lunch was enjoyed by the inmates and they kept thanking us.
A few stores like tea, biscuits, milk powder and sugar were also handed over to them, as requested.
We also visited the sick room and it was sad to see so many of them very sick and bed ridden. Let us pray for their quick recovery.
This visit like the others we make every month was fulfilling, gratifying and a reminder to us to keep helping others and thanking God for what we have.
You may help us in various ways. Not just by donating fund, but you may also be a part of working team. You can come along with us to serve the underprivileged society. Be with them, teach them, spend time... it could be any thing. They need good words to share.
At the least, one can also help by spreading the work of Anavi on social media. If not you, anyone else may be willing to join.
